What if wisps had a human form?

Wisps are a fictional creatures that I created. They come in a variety of colors and are adorable in appearance and behavior. They are gender-less, so I went for a child like face that is as gender neutral I can draw.

This is the first image I did in GIMP. The program is free to download and easy to work with. I'm struggling a bit with some features but thanks to the internet tutorials, it is actually a nice substitute for Photoshop.

Thanks to redheadstock for her brush sets. The fading part at the bottom of the image, where the body ends, is done with her Arurora Borealis brush. 
(I know it sounds strange, the brushes can be colorized so can work for other effects.)

This image was done as a paper sketch before being colored. If you want to see the beforehand sketches, let me know and I'll post them here.
